If none of them are possible, when will Apple update boot camp to run with Windows 8? Or, when will Apple release the retina graphics driver for windows 7? So, how can I use boot camp in Windows 8 with AHCI driver? If I cannot do that, is it possible to get back to ATA mode? Or, is it possible to change the behavior of the keyboard without using boot camp? (Of course I can use the default driver for the keyboard I guess, which basically make Fn doesn't work and make "delete" doesn't work since delete = fn + backspace). I verified that in the device manager in Windows 8. Seems like with Boot Camp 4.0 and Windows 8 Release Preview, the system natively boots into and supports AHCI mode. I used to use the 27 inch apple display with Windows 7 before, so I know this is realted to the fact that the system is using AHCI driver instead of ATA driver for the harddisk. Make sure you have administrative privileges and try again. You may not have privileges to change the startup disk. However, when I try to launch Boot Camp in Windows 8, it always give me me this error:Īn error occurred while trying to access the startup disk settings. I also know that Boot Camp in Windows should be able to deal with that too. I know this is the default behavior in Mac OS and you can set it through keyboard settings. For instance, the function keys only work when fn is pressed, or they are basically doing special tasks like changing the brightness, etc. The only problem is that the keyboard doesn't work as how normal windows keyboard. The reason I used Windows 8 is because the Retina Display is not supported in Windows 7 yet. Your last hope is probably to try this page on older Mac models For models older than that, you're in the era before BootCamp downloads, and you probably need an OS X Leopard or earlier install CD.I got the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display this week and I installed Windows 8 Release Preview with Boot Camp. My model isn't listed on that Apple pageĪh. If it doesn't work, you can uninstall from the Windows Control Panel and try again with the drivers Apple said you should use. What you can try is: get the download you think you want open it with 7-zip Now instead of running the installer, open the Folder that contains the individual driver installers. You're stepping into the realm of the unsupported, so you're at your own risk here. Then you want this page: Only 64-bit drivers are listed but I want 32-bit drivers. pkg file download Apple has just given me
